Laura the Acupuncturist with her Jack Russell, Bridget

Hi, I'm Laura the Acupuncturist

I trained at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York, twice. My first degree is in Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture, and after a few years of travelling and practising acupuncture, I went back for my Masters in Chinese Herbal Medicine. Since adding herbs to my practice, I have seen a huge jump in the range of conditions I can successfully treat.

My clinic ethos is to make sure you feel comfortable and heard, and that we work together on the best treatment plan we can, to return you to health or help you reach your goals as soon as possible. Acupuncture and herbs may seem to work like magic, but they certainly aren't magic. All of my treatments are driven by evidence-based medicine. I love my mantra: 'Backed by research. Driven by care.'

In my clinic, the conversation is often about poo and discharge, so your hairy legs are definitely nothing to worry about. I like to get to know you as a person too, so you walk in feeling like a friend. I'll definitely learn your dog's name, and maybe even your partner's.

Outside of clinic, I'm pretty much constantly surrounded by animals. I have a beautiful Jack Russell named Bridget, a cheeky, cuddly cat named Bernard, and five chickens from the British Hen Welfare Trust. I love true crime documentaries and murder mystery books. I also have a wonderfully supportive fiancé, who built Sanctum, an all-in-one platform for holistic health practitioners, for my overwhelmed pregnant self, and we have since welcomed our very own beautiful Acu-Baby into the world.

As I work predominantly with people on their fertility journeys, I've spent many years researching and studying, gaining advanced diplomas in my real passion: Fertility Support Acupuncture and Herbs.

In 2025 I was lucky enough to spend a month working in a hospital in China, experiencing first-hand the integration of acupuncture and herbs within a hospital setting, something I would love to see happen more often in the UK.

Here's to more healing, laughter, and maybe a little magic (the research-backed kind 😉).
